THE FUCKING BAND: Faced with an entire generation of young people being raised on nothing but over-produced radio rock and emasculated thrift-store hipster whining, Bloomington, Indiana’s TREMENDOUS FUCKING (you can call ‘em TREMFU if mom’s around) lives to grab an audience by the throat, smash their emo glasses, and go home with their girlfriends. Their sound – the Jesus Lizard molesting the Pixies while McLusky takes pictures – and explosive stage presence leave a trail of damaged eardrums, broken psyches, and rocked asses in their wake.

After noting that they “have been talking up this band like it’s our job lately” Firesideometer seized upon the band’s motif (and favorite word) to state “These songs fucking rule” in reference to the debut E.P. How’s My Fucking? (Higher Step Records). Punk Planet magazine agreed in PG-13 fashion: “This CD rocks!”

The follow-up, Thanks for Nothin’ (2005), loses none of the edge while highlighting the rapid growth rate of the band’s ability to craft instantly unforgettable and precision-guided weapons of rock destruction.

TREMFU’s sound has spread throughout the Midwest like crab lice through a bordello, having appeared in many of the finer venues in Indianapolis, Evansville, Fort Wayne, Bloomington, Chicago, and Cincinnati. They have shared bills with the likes of The Sump Pumps, The Nicotones and The Coke Dares, as well as national acts including Murder by Death, Mock Orange, This Bike is a Pipe Bomb and Defiance, Ohio. The band are relentless performers who live by the motto “If you’ll have us, we’ll play” when it comes to booking shows.
